It was named after a flower because the reflector's shape reminds us concentrically aligned lotus petals. Without the outer mirrors, the diameter is only 70cm and suitable for the cooking for one person. with a outer booster mirrors, the diameter becomes 85cm, and can cook foods for 2-3 people.

When I was alone at home, I used it for myself.
@At 9:00am in a small sunny sopt I started cookig.
The sun elevation at this time is still very low, but Sun Lotus can concentrate the light on the pot.
At first, I tried a cup of rice. In 45 min. it was done. A cup of rice is too enough for one person.
The outside temperature was still 0 centigrade (32F). I found a lot of frost columns in the garden.
Then we made curry because it's really good with rice!@In ten minutes after setting the pot, the bottom of the pot is too hot to touch. In 50 minutes, the curry was done.

Next I tried Creme de Chicken with Bloccory. I used instant soup.
I started at 10:45 and at first I sauteed the chicken. Then added bloccory, water(150cc) and a bag of powder soup. Because the chicken was already sauteed, I only waited 5 min. for the soup to be heated.
Next, I tried indoor solar cooking! Because Sun Lotus is quite safe, we can use it inside the houses.
In a sunny Japanese room, I started cooking at 12:00.
Firstly, I started from an easy one. I used instant rizotto. Even though I started from cold water, in 30 min. it was completely done.
Here, I ate everything for my lunch.
Then I wanted some desserts. One of them was a pancake. It was 1:00pm. I made two pancakes.
Now it was 2:00pm. and it seemed a little late to start solar cooking, but I decided to try the last one, a compote of apple. I waited one hour. The pot is boiling but the apples are still a little hard. After all, I didn't eat the apple this day. But when I looked it next day, the apples were all transparent and sweet. I ate it with my breakfast.

After all, the amount I cooked was too much for one person. The Sun Lotus can cook for two even without the outer booster mirrors!
